Laboratories are the backbone of any care, treatment and prevention program and the data they generate are critical for clinical decision making, disease screening, disease monitoring, blood safety and surveillance.
The Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Sierra Leone has consulted Mr. Philip Boakye to establish an integrated LIMS that links the national and regional health management information system.
The tasks are:
- To conduct a needs assessment, identify the logistics need for the software and provide bills of quantity for procurement and maintenance of software.
- To develop an electronic database for laboratory LIMS, linking the National and Regional LIMS.
- To develop training materials/ tools on the use of the recommended software.
- To train personnel on the use of software, including Training of Trainers for cascading.
- Pilot of the system.
